Some people were wondering and I'm a geek so I'm poking around a bit. I'm just going to post what looks interesting.

From a site that creates CD artwork, CD Forge:

How do I get a UPC Barcode and what is SoundScan?

CD Forge offers Free barcodes for clients' projects that use both our Printing & CD services. If you need a UPC (barcode), you must request it BEFORE you send us your art files or film. We will email it to you as an EPS file that you can drop into your artwork. We can drop a UPC barcode into your art files for you, but this service will cost an additional $100 in graphics charges.

SoundScan is the company that tracks all retail album sales. Once you register your bar code with SoundScan, they will track your CD's sales amongst those retail outlets that report to SoundScan (all major chains and some independent stores). You can register your bar code for free; simply download the SoundScan application form (PDF).

You may also subscribe to SoundScan's reporting service, though you must subscribe directly with SoundScan for a fee. To subscribe to SoundScan, visit their web site at http://home.soundscan.com. SoundScan will send you reports showing how many of your retail CDs have sold and where.

D'oh!

I love Live. Just talked to a friend, told her how much I loved Live and their "Distance to Here" CD. And how much I loved "The Dolphin's Song."

Bwhahahahaha! I had the CD on repeat for like, four months. I listen to it every chance I get. "Dolphin's Cry", you goober.

::le sigh::

In other news, one of these days I'll be able to listen to "Lose Myself" without feeling tiny, silk-covered pins pierce my heart. Makes me ache, man. Ache.

I want to write. I *want* to write. Aiii, dammit! I can't friggin' THINK!!! Those who can't, whine.

I'm on vacation this week, well, the first three days of the week, anyway. But that's enough. I keep thinking at very odd moments, hey! I'm on vacation! And that, my friends, is a fabulous feeling.

Oooooooooooh, I think a story is calling me. I think. My muses taunt me by speaking pretty convincing gibberish at times, so it's hard to tell.
