Woohoo! Hubs earned his keep by successfully programming the VCR to tape JC's appearance. Been up since 4:30. Watched tape.

Cutting for sensitive types who may not have seen it yet and therefore prefer to remain unspoiled. Woot! )

Written in response to this article: Bass says he's still 'N Sync

Mr. Picture,

I'm writing in reference to your recent feature, "Bass says he's still 'N Sync," which is a sloppy, dismissive, condescending blurb about NSync and its individual members.

There are five members of the band, not four, and while *you* might think Mr. Bass is unattractive and forgettable, that's neither here nor there in the context of the item.

And if, by his omission, you're slyly implying that in reality Chris Kirkpatrick is the most forgettable and least attractive member of the group, you might want to re-think this writing strategy in the future. It doesn't make you look clever.

I wonder though, if you'd even given it that much thought. I suspect that my first impression is correct: the blurb was simply ill-researched and hastily thrown together.

Your readers, the members of NSync, and their fans all deserve better.

I might be getting Schizophrenic on Friday.

I went to my favorite place today with two of my lunch buds. We cruised the stacks, and I went up to pay for the Rolling Stone with JC's review (JC!). I asked the clerk if they're getting JC's album in on Tuesday. He said that if they weren't, he could order it for me. I was reluctant because, no! First day! So he said, we get new releases on Fridays sometimes. He said that they don't advertise that fact, for obvious reasons, but regular customers know.

My ears perked up. My heart sped up. I began to sweat.

This is the kind of place with tie-dyed t-shirts displayed on the wall. They burn incense and play groovy indie music on the house system.

I've been in the store a few times, and I love this guy. He's knowledgeable about all types of music and he's never condescending - no matter what I ask for! - which is incredibly refreshing.

He asked me to spell JC's last name. I did. While he was looking it up, I said, "He's one of the refugees from NSync." He laughed and immediately mentioned the Pro Bowl and said, "Justin's friend." And then he found JC's name on the list.

They're getting it in!

I immediately began to shake, I mean *complete* fan girl mode. My friends were laughing - with me, not at me. ;-) He said that he can give me a call when the shipment comes in on Friday. Quicker than you can say "JC likes pink," I started to give him my work number, and can you believe it, I've worked there for YEARS, but I was so excited that I blanked out on the phone number! I had to ask my friends to tell him because I honestly couldn't think!

I can't believe it. I might have it on Friday. Hours later I'm still shaking. :-)

I'm too restless to do anything tonight. Can't write. Can't read. Can't answer email. Can't look for fonts. I've just been sitting here vibrating (not like that, perverts).

I've got a happiness headache, the kind you get when good stuff is right around the bend and your brain pumps out too many "yippee!" hormones and they riccochet off the inside of your skull.

I am too happy. The CD, man. Days away.

Major coolness, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] bitterchick:

I now officially believe the album is coming out on Tuesday. I just passed Tower on Sunset. The Justified Billboard on the corner of the building has been replaced with a Schizophrenic Billboard.

I'm very excited. I feel like I'm about to levitate. :-)
