Borders Books and Music is the Evil Empire, in and of itself.

Went Tuesday after work, and John Mayer's first CD was purchased. Four of the eight (?) songs are on Room for Squares, but the other four I'd never heard. It was 8.99, so I took a chance. Purchased Busted Stuff by Dave Matthews Band, again on sale - 13.99. Why was I thinking there was another studio release after this one??? Got Justin's Seventeen cover, and looked for I-D, but no such luck. But! Got turned on to Blue, a gorgeous gay men's art magazine. Aiiii, completely gorgeous, with completely gorgeous naked man art inside.

Then.

Got home, proceeded to shred the shrink wrap on my CDs. For some reason (delayed reaction), it occurred to me that 33 odd bucks didn't sound right for two sale CDs and a magazine. Argh! 8.99 turned into 9.99 on my receipt, and 13.99 somehow rang up as 16.99. Kill! Kill! Called to let them know about the mistake, and then whipped over there after work yesterday to have the four odd bucks credited to my card.

Oh! Completely forgot why they're the Evil Empire.

While perusing the joint (I hate the way they've got the rather sizeable music section set up, seems backwards and inside out to me), I couldn't find the single releases. Asked Cute Hippie Boy behind the counter if he could direct me to Justin Timberlake's new one. CHB hits their computer and says, "Ah, that won't be out until November." After I told him that the single should be available now, he checked again and said, "Ah! Yeah, that's been released, but we're not stocking it."

My plans for filling all my Timberlake needs in one fell swoop were not met. I have another plan of attack though, have no fear.

Paid my mortgage and car insurance online. I love the freakin' internet.

Read that yesterday was John Mayer's birthday, and today belongs to Chris K. Happy birthday, Chris Kirkpatrick! If I knew you, I'd give you a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Once again, Libras rule, even if the Lord of the Evil Empire (Chris can get his ass kicked, indeed) happened to have been born in my favorite month. ::boo, hiss:: No birthday greetings for you, Peroxide Boy. ;-P

I owe feedback and thanks and I have email to answer. So what have I been doing? Writing. Eeee!

Just a shortie inspired by a transcript of Justin's interview the other day on the British TV show PopWorld. Transcribed by Jenni and posted in the Closet; a big thank you to Jenni for letting me use it! The interview snippet intros the (very short!) fic.

The pretty version or
