Holy lord.
Had the day from hell today - oops, yesterday. Felt slightly crampy Wednesday, but not so bad that it influenced my day. Wednesday night, however, was a different story. Didn't have to get up early Thursday morning, so I went to bed early thinking I'd be able to get lots of sleep. Hah!
Tossed, turned, couldn't get to sleep. Crampy and miserable. Much with the hurting, and Advil gelcaps were no help. So as not to wake the husband I finally got out of bed around 2:30, and stretched out on the living room floor (this helps sometimes). Was miserable on the floor for a few hours, slept an hour and then it was time to get up. Fabulous!
Intended to go to work, finish up some stuff on my desk and head home after a few hours. Clearly, the Fates didn't have enough to keep them occupied and out of my hair. Co-worker called in a vacation day, so being me, I felt guilty leaving. What a way to start (continue) my day!
Naturally, she'd promised someone she'd have something for them first thing in the morning, and naturally, I'm the sucker that happened to be around when this person came looking for it. Didn't get to a single thing on my to-do list yesterday. Every time it looked like I'd be able to *finally* head home so I could be properly miserable in my bed with my cats, something else would pop up. Argh! Put in a full day after all.
Got home, and told husband of my sucky day. Still hurting and miserable. He had surgery a few weeks ago, and has a Vicodin prescription. Now, I'm a person who takes only aspirin for the occasional headache, usually suffers through sinus attacks unmedicated, and only takes Advil for cramps.
Vicodin and mashed potatoes and green beans for lunch = interesting combination. I surfed while I waited for the Vic to kick in. Felt suddenly pain-free and was pleased. Typed up comment to the stunning picture of JC in Dacey's journal, and felt weird and dizzy and srange. Have no idea what happened to the LJ comment, 'cause it's not there. Blinked a few times and told the husband, "Uh, I'm going to bed now." Crashed until 9:00, called my dad, talked for about 45 minutes, then went back to bed.
Weird, weird day.
