Because I'm NSync's bitch, and apparently [livejournal.com profile] scot_ty's as well, I'm answering her question, "where is the love?" I got your love hangin', baby.

Short preamble: This is one of my favorite NSync memories, and it concerns two of my favorite things, NSync and my mom. I came into the fandom on January 28, 2001. Celebrity was released on July 24, 2001. My mother died on October 1, 2001.

On July 21, 2001, The Road to Celebrity aired on MTV. I'd made plans to tape the special, because Mom was coming over for a Girl Day. This is what happened. :-)

Wow, yes, like Amy said, thank you so much for sharing that with all of us. I'm glad you got to share the 'sync love with your mom before she died. It just makes the group that much more special, that they connected you two. (And shoot, now I'm all sniffly.)

If [livejournal.com profile] stargems reads this she may kick my ass for being repetitive and never letting it go but...

I was there at the taping! I was there at the taping!

That all. :)

Except for the fact that it took me way too long to figure out how the hell to leave this comment with your new LJ style. I need a fucking LJ tutor.

That was *such* a fun day! Squeeing all around, and NSync fruit snacks for that special over-the-top touch. ;-)

She and my dad came to visit the day before she died and as they were leaving, she and I made plans to go shopping that weekend, and confirmed plans to see On The Line when it premiered in the next couple of weeks.

The last two things I discussed with my mother: shopping and NSync. :-)

!!!! I'm jealous! JC in his "Rebel" t-shirt...so cute blowing bubbles and dancing and just generally being sexy and cute. I'm ready for a solo tour!

I'd rather have the old style comment page but it's not an option with this LJ style, which I love.

The Component style is nice, but I think I like this one better. It's nice and clean-looking. I don't like the little comment-related icons in place of text, though, and like I said above, I much prefer the old comment page.

I hope that will be an option for *all* styles once they're through fiddling with things.

Certainly my pleasure to share it. Though she was a Lance girl, I'm confident that the undeniable power that is The Chasez would have reeled her in eventually. ;-)

Well, as long as it took me, I did figure it out. So, there you go. Those who want to comment will make it happen.

Road to Celebrity. One hell of a day. We got there around 6:45am to get our early copy of "Celebrity" and decorate the car. Then a lot "" of waiting. Then their soundcheck for the show. Then the taping for 3 hours. Then tailgaiting in the parking lot of Qualcomm Stadium. Then floor seats to the concert that night.

It was one of my all time favorite 'Nsync days. I got a new freckle that day. It's on my forehead. It's my RTC freckle.

Thank you! :-) The feeling is certainly mutual, I adore you, too. (((Scotty)))

She was such a sweetie! She'd have loved Justified, I'm positive, and as a vocalist, she'd have swooned over JC's untreated BT tracks.

Is it positioned close to where JC's forehead mole is located? Are you guys freckle twins? :-D

Much as I love the forehead one, that tiny mole on his chin just makes me swoon, for some reason.

I think, at this moment, every damn thing about him makes me swoon.

Even Joey swoons.

Oh, Joey. Stating the very obvious. ;-)

It sounds like a lot of fun! I had my parents watching the VMAs last year, when Justin performed solo. (Actually, it was their idea, since Springsteen was opening the show.) By the time he rolled around they weren't too into it anymore, but it was really fun mocking the other celebs with them.

I wish my mom liked *nsync. That would be funny.

You don't know me, but you made me get all teary. My mom is sick, and I really don't expect her to be here for Christmas. But we have wonderful times together, although she doesn't care much about Nsync. She just looks at me oddly and says things about how I'm a little too old for them. (We bond over football players instead). My daughters, on the other hand, are fans, although they laugh at my level of obsessiveness.

I don't mean to get all personal here, but I can't imagine not knowing beforehand, not being able to say goodbye. It's hard enough knowing I will have to say goodbye soon.

Ah, now it's my turn to cry! I'm so sorry to hear about your mother.

Honestly, I'm glad it was quick. I was so, so lucky that I'd seen her the day before!

I was away from LJ for two weeks, and here's my first post after.

I love the quote from "The Prophet" (in my post) especially the last five lines. I'm not spectacularly religious, but those lines really give me a sense of peace and comfort.

Sigh. I *know* death is a part of life, and I know children are supposed to outlive their parents, but I'm not ready. She's my best friend. Your post made me smile as well as cry, because I have lots of good memories of us together. And she's still here, so maybe we can make some more.

"For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?"

I think I'm going to hold onto this. Thank you so much.

And now, off to Merry's Challenge, to let Chris cheer me up.
