Dreamwidth!
I think I'm ready to import my LJ entries to Dreamwidth and start posting from there. 0_o <--(why does that look funnier when other people do it?) My paid LJ account runs out in January, so that's when I'll start a paid DW account. I'll keep cross-posting though, since I hardly know anyone on Dreamwidth.
It's a little scary; it's kind of like when I started my LJ and had no friends. :( There's new terminology to learn, blah blah blah...in short, I hope that this will be my only and LAST journal move! Dreamwidth, don't let me down! Once I move I'll be with you for the long haul. :-)

Howdy! ::waves::
I looked at my stats a little while ago, and I'm currently subscribed to eight journals. :-D I know it'll take a little time for DW to feel like home. It's nice to know that I know at least eight other people here!
What I *need* to do is start reading my DW friends page more relgiously. And then start friending like a mofo. ;-)

Will follow you here then ;)

*pokes back*
I'm here! :-D I imported my entries this morning. And now I'm laughing because I'm posting and enjoying my journal and stuff, and LJ's down AGAIN.

Someone else said almost (not quite) the same thing. :-) They'll be cross-posting, but not reading their friends page on DW...actually, come to think of it, that will be me too! I hate starting over, but LJ's getting to be ridiculous.
The weird ad hijacks on my free account were the last straw. That and the "repost" links for Facebook and Twitter. Ugh. Other than posting from Dreamwidth instead of LJ, things probably won't change. :-)

And I just thought of this...let me know your DW account so I can friend you there, even if you never post. :-)

Hmmmmmmm, I never thought about this. I think once my entries are imported and I'm just cross-posting to LJ, you can read me on DW! :-D

Until/unless the folks at LJ do something so incredibly stupid that I decide to delete my journal, I'll keep cross-posting. :-) OR! Until all of my friends are on DW too. :-D

I'd been jonesing for a permanent LJ account for years, but now I'm glad that I always *just* missed the sale. :-)

LOL! Do you have a DW? Chris says she does, which I didn't realize (and I'll have to nag her about so I can friend her there).

Okay, that's freakin' hilarious that you're not even sure of your user name there. :-D I'll see if I can find it and I'll friend you. :-)

Hooray! I believe I have you friended already; I'll double check. :-)

I never thought I'd leave LJ, but with every change the new owners made it was more and more obvious that they really had no idea what they'd bought.
Here's the link to the Dreamwidth FAQ page:
http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faq
I seem to recall seeing a direct LJ/Dreamwidth comparison, but God only knows where! I'm thinking it should be linked somewhere in the FAQ.
I'm *just* starting to look around the site myself; there are a couple of communities for new members so they can ask questions, etc.
I hope you find all the info you need!
