Justin Timberlake Announces North American Arena Tour Dates

Justin Timberlake's not going to rest until he brings his love to every town in America. Well, perhaps that's a bit of a stretch, but the singer is planning to spend a good part of next year taking it to the bridge on the 2007 FutureSex/LoveShow, an arena show on a far grander scale than his August club gigs.

"I've been rehearsing the band, getting the show ready and tight," Timberlake said in a video statement on Tuesday (October 17). "What do we got? Ten dancers, 14 bandmembers, a million tricks up my sleeve, a crazy light show — and I might even show up. So that's pretty exciting. No, seriously, come out. I'll see you guys there."

Accompanying Timberlake on this mission will be his labelmate Pink, who will have just wrapped up a several-months-long European tour herself. The FutureSex/LoveShow kicks off January 8 in San Diego and hits 34 cities before it concludes on March 29 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, at which point more dates may be added.

On-sale dates will be announced locally in each market. Dates for a complete worldwide tour also remain to be announced.

I love bags, dammit!

Yay, leather goods for my birthday! :-D 'Cause I'm a slut for leather. :::purr:::

From the ever-fabulous folks at Pierotucci. Handmade! Gorgeousness! The color is given as olive green, but it's really more of a moss, thanks to the brownish undertone. It's goooooooooooooooooooorgeous! Sadly, my rather crappy photos don't do justice to the color. Mmmmmmmmm. Leather.

Chris Meloni in a Lifetime movie!

I know there's at least one Chris Meloni fan on my flist, and she might like to know that Chris stars in a movie on LMN tonight at 8:00 p.m. I love Chris, but I'll probably be watching monster movies tonight. :-D Also, I'm allergic to Lifetime Movies. ::runs screaming::

Every Nine Seconds

A crisis line worker searches for an abused woman who calls the hotline proclaiming her revenge against her abusive ex-husband. In a second story, a teen who declined help from the crisis center is attacked by her boyfriend.

He's the abusive ex-husband. Aiiii!

JC and Justin's love child. It's a boy!

I've been completely boring and non-posty this last week. I've been writing, which tends to absorb most of my brain energy when I'm online. So...yes! I'm here, just functioning on another plane of existence for a bit.

I saw a most striking boy at lunch today. Well, not so much a boy as a young man. A student, no doubt, about 19 or 20. He was tall, thin, and the reason he caught my eye in the first place, he was sporting a head of the wildest blond curls since La Timberlake. His hair wasn't quite as tightly curled as Justin's though, it wasn't nappy so much as just...wild, fat curls. Beautiful hair, and so like a boy for it to be out of control. :-) He slapped a baseball hat on before he sat down with his buds.

He wasn't really what you'd call cute or even really classically good-looking - he was pleasant looking enough, with a longish nose. But he looked interesting, so I couldn't help glancing at him again. And then again, and that's when I got BUSTED big time, because when I looked up he was looking right at me. That's when I noticed the second striking thing about him, the bluest eyes this side of the Chasez, whose eyes were incredibly blue even where I was standing a few rows back at the House of Blues. *That* kind of blue. So I looked away, and looked at him again, and yeah, busted because he was looking at me again. Ate, chatted with my friends. Had to look again. This time when I looked up and saw he was looking back, I figured I needed to keep my eyes on my plate. LOL! So the love child of JC and Justin is apparently a student at OSU. Go figure. ;-)

In other news...there is no news. I have a bit of a cold, almost called in sick today, then decided that I had too many things to wrap up. I'm freakin' tired, I know that much!

Positive JC mention!

A small but positive JC mention in a review of Justin's album:

Justin’s voice may not have the power and vocal brilliance of his former colleague in ‘NSync, JC Chasez, but he more than makes up for it in technique and charisma.

Power! Vocal brilliance! Brilliance, yet! Yay! From INQ7.net. Follow the link to the original, or clicky-click the cut to read it here. :-)

JC Chasez No Longer 'Schizophrenic'

From aolmusicnewsblog.com:

JC Chasez No Longer 'Schizophrenic'
Posted Oct 5th 2006 1:38PM by Jolie Lash

JC Chasez's new single, 'Until Yesterday,' written with former *NSYNC band mate Justin Timberlake, was composed while the singer was in the midst of a self-imposed music blackout.

"I tried to stay as far away from everything as I could," Chasez says. "I wanted to create something that's really my own sound, and I feel like I've actually accomplished it."

"My last record [2004's 'Schizophrenic'] was more electro-clash, and this record went more guitar-based," the singer says. "I think every artist should grow with each record."

Helping out on the upcoming album were producers and songwriters in various locales. From Timberlake in L.A. to Timbaland in Miami and Dallas Austin in Atlanta, Chasez says the travel encouraged him to grow while writing the album. "Sometimes you lock yourself in a room and you come up with one batch of material that's great, but it's also fun to go to new places and be inspired," he says. "It triggers new, fresh ideas."

Great googly moogly! We're having a hail storm right out of hell. I've *never* heard ('cause who'd be out in something like this willingly?) a storm like this. Wow, no Chinese delivery for me, dammit. ::cries::

Help please? Brit pick...

I have a question for any Brits on my flist. And *please* excuse my ignorance. I'm embarrassed that I have to ask about this!

How do you refer to yourself, are you English or British? What's the key difference? How would Draco Malfoy refer to himself?

I started to Google around to see what I could find, but I'd rather hear what real live people have to say. :-) Thanks in advance to anyone who responds. :-)

Mom. Five years!

What an absolutely spectacular day it is, a perfect day to usher in my favorite month, October. The sky is postcard blue, and thanks to the very cool weather these last couple of weeks, the leaves are turning. Lots of scarlet and yellow mixed with green, and it looks great. :-)

Today is the fifth anniversary of my mom's death. Five years have practically flown. I remember the first few days, the first few weeks, when it seemed like life would never go back to normal, and that time would drag on until it was *my* time to go. It's freaky how quickly time really does move. From minutes dragging by like days until *poof!* it's five years later and you're just kind of blinking, wondering what happened. One good thing? I can sit here and type this without bawling my eyes out. Go me. I can sit and smile instead, and I'm sure Mom likes that better. :-)

Remembering... )

Anyway, I'm glad I'm at the point where I can remember Mom with more laughter than tears. Still think about her tons and I still cry every now and then (eeek, tearing up now). I loved her so much. I miss her like crazy. :-(

Doctor Who! Eureka! Project Runway!

Doctor Who: I'm so sad. I loved the last Doctor (Nine, I believe?) immediately. Christopher Eccleston! What's not to love? Sadly, I've watched two episodes of the new Doctor (David Tennant), and I think the magic is gone, at least for me. :-( Have to admit though, that "The Face of Bo" is a totally cool character name. Also, the Doctor and Rose need to get a room, already. Gag me. ;-p

Eureka: Yay! It appears as though the "Henry's leaving!" thing was just a ploy to make me crazy. Also, it appears as though Allison has come to her senses and has turned her affections back to Carter, where they belong. Yayness!

Runway: I still hate Jeffrey, but I loved his dress. The soft denim blue velvet looked lovely against the deep red belt. I liked the soft bubble shape of the skirt. The halter looked a bit weird in the closeup shots, but overall, I thought the design was cute.

Studio 60: I like this show, but I'm not too sure about Harriet. I'm not a big fan of the ex-boy/girlfriend ohmygoshhowwillweworktogether! thing, but I'm willing to give it a chance. I'm really impressed with Matthew Perry in his role. I've loved Steven Weber since his days on Wings, so yay! All in all, I'll probably watch again.

On the hunt for more JC stuff...

Okay, you've got to love an article that describes the subject's outfit. This outfit, as a matter of fact. From The New York Observer:

Happiness

“I think Lance is happier now, in some respects,” ’N Sync heartthrob JC Chasez said. His former bandmate Lance Bass recently clarified his sexuality to the world. (“I’m Gay,” blared People’s Aug. 7 cover line over a picture of Mr. Bass wearing a blue dress shirt and his best “This is me!” face.)

Mr. Chasez was hanging tough with some bros around midnight at Marquee in the middle of last week; it was L.A.-based boutique Satine’s turn to throw a Fashion Week party. The former boy-band member, now 30, had come from the Bagley Mischka show. He enjoys fashion and thinks this Fashion Week was particularly “well-executed.”

Back on Mr. Bass: “You know, now he can go on with his life and not have to deal with people asking the question all the time,” said Mr. Chasez, who wore a pair of green plaid pants deftly tempered by a conservative gray Hugo Boss cardigan over a white oxford and black tie—Windsor knot, extra fat. “So I guess it’s a good thing in that way.”

He was full of qualifiers like that. Mr. Chasez was appalled by the insensitive and relentless behavior of the media that forced Mr. Bass’ hand.

In his coming-out article, Mr. Bass, 27, said that he had decided to speak out because the rumors “were really were starting to affect my daily life. Now it feels like it’s on my terms.”

“It’s unfortunate that he found himself in a position where he felt obligated to tell the world about his sexuality,” said Mr. Chasez. Mr. Chasez tabloid-famously dated Eva Longoria.

“He was being probed, you know,” Mr. Chasez said. “That’s not right. What happens in your bedroom is your business and no one else’s.”

Career-wise, Mr. Chasez was eager to promote his as-of-yet-untitled solo album, which comes out early next year, and his new single, called “Until Yesterday,” which officially drops, as they say, on Oct. 30. The song, he told reporters earlier this month, is about dealing with “your girlfriend getting knocked up with another man’s baby.”

JC stuff! Good stuff!

Seen in topaz119's journal, and now I'll have it for my very own.

PopWatch - Snap judgment: JC Chasez's 'Until Yesterday', by Michael Slezak at ew.com:

Let me preface my remarks about JC Chasez's new single, ''Until Yesterday'' (co-written by fellow 'N Sync alum Justin Timberlake) by saying that I'm probably one of 11 people on the planet who still listens to the guy's first solo disc, 2004's Schizophrenic. And while ''Until Yesterday'' (click here to hear it streaming at AOL Music) has an undeniably driving beat and a sticks-in-your-head melody that converge and build to a very dramatic crescendo (a la ''Cry Me a River''), the lyrics of this single give me uncomfortable cause for pause. Aren't there ways to sing about paternity drama without resorting to screechingly un-poetic lines like, ''The baby's not my blood type''? And seriously, JC, when the line ''If you play with fire, then you'll get burned'' is the leadoff batter for your chorus, then perhaps it's time to set down the pen and back away from the obvious clichés.

Idolator lists 'Until Yesterday' as the Pick of the Day in their Friday MP3 Roundup:

JC Chasez is pretty much absolved for his boy-band sins for two reasons: his idea to sample Pac-Man on N'Sync's "The Game Is Over" and his over-the-top turn on the Basement Jaxx's "Plug It In." (We'll even forgive him for his dalliance with Tara Reid.) Now, we have "Until Yesterday," which was co-written with ex-bandmate Justin Timberlake. It's a doozy--prepare yourself for a stomping take on the power ballad, complete with sorta corny lyrics, a Freddie Mercury-channeling backing choir, military drums, and a fist-raising run-up to the final chorus.

Not a bad start, eh? Yay!

Fox's brain on drugs.

You know what would be a fun challenge? Or at least a challenge, if not exactly fun. But fun. ANYWAY...the Rewrite JC Chasez's Crack-addled Lyrics Challenge! I thought about this today at work, how JC could certainly benefit from a lyricist, and then I started thinking about some of the lyrics that I really like. Dave Matthews has a wonderful kind of shorthand when it comes to telling a story in song. Then my mind jumped a few chasms and I wondered how working with a lyricist works. Do you have your own ideas and let the other guy pen the poem (because JC is the kind of guy who'd be full of his own ideas)? Then I started pondering just how I might go about editing Chasez's lyrics. Hmmmm.

You know what else? I love him dearly, but I bet if JC wrote fic it'd be badfic. That makes me incredibly sad. :-(

JC! I love it. Seriously.

Listened to Until Yesterday repeatedly today at work. You know what? Love it. LOVE IT. Love. IT. The music, his voice...everything. Love it. Okay, the lyrics are...interesting, but come on. THIS TUNE KICKS ASS. Whether or not it's radio-friendly and will grab the ear of the masses has yet to be seen.

withdiamonds mentioned a Beatlesque sound to the song. I heard a 60s influence too, but I was thinking of The Turtles. The background "la las las" remind me of a specific song and I can hear it in my head, but I can't think of the name of the tune! Aiiii! It's right on the tip of my brain but it won't come out, dammit.

JC's song is up and available!

Gakked with much excitement from glendaglamazon:

Thanks to pacific_gravity for the heads-up! Until Yesterday is UP!!!. It's got an annoying AOL First Listen audio stamp in it, but! THE WHOLE SONG!

Go HERE! It's official. I love it. ::swoons:: I just checked my cable provider's AOL On Demand channel and didn't see it listed - at least not yet. I'll check again tomorrow. I was able to listen to the clip twice before it crashed IE. The same thing happened the other night with the Q100 clip I downloaded. I had it on endless repeat and after a few listens, my IE crashed. Oddness.

JC! Massive JC luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurve!
