Recs and ponderation...

So, read this story if you haven't already, Irreplaceable, by the irreplaceable Rhys.

It's a great story, hot of course, but it's much more than that. One of the things I especially like about it is the way Chris wavers back and forth in his assessment of JC and Justin's relationship. I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read it, but there's one line that just embedded itself in my brain:

the idea that this wasn't new, that this was a huge fucking secret, a private love affair that involved two of the most beautiful guys Chris knew screwing each other

I love the idea behind it. A huge secret, a private love affair. I love the depth of feeling behind it, and I love the way Rhys bookended something romantic and private between "fucking" and "screwing."

But, yeah. I just so, so love that notion, but I'm not sure where or how to begin. But I'd love to write that story. I want to write that story.

Dude, you make me sound so, like, writerly and smart. I'm gonna pretend I consciously intended to do that, because, yes. ::grins:: but thanks, man. And please write that story. please.

(Still love Chasez Lake. eeeeeee!)

You know, every time I reread this story -- and that's a lot -- I find that I'm as proud to have bunnied that story and helped enthuse you through it as I am of anything I've *ever* written myself.

You wrote exactly what I saw in my head and what I wanted. Every image and line of dialogue is perfect.

You're writerly and talented, that's for damn sure, whether you intended to write the passage as you did or not. :-) Fabulous stuff woman, all of it. The fandom's certainly richer for having you in it.
