here, have my (not short at all) fandom history!

Old Skool - mailing lists (going way back, even prior to yahoo)

I got online around 1998 and absolutely adored Homicide: LOtS, so looked online for info. one of the sites includes fan fiction, and that lead me to slash - and I was HOME! here were my people, combining my intense interest in shows/characters and m/m

merrily (and blindly) following links led to a variety of other writers/fandoms such ST:Voyager, XF, and TS, and began my habit of reading in fandoms of which I'd never heard (which continues to this day). I sampled Buffy and SN before leaping wholeheartedly into dueSouth, where I was encouraged to delurk, and discovered the joys of RPS and darkfic. when several members of the Bindlestitch group discovered and began talking about popslash, it was all over.

Middle School - beginning of the LJ years

late 2000 I began sampling a little popslash, and members of Bindlestitch were setting up on this newfangled LJ. indulging my best lemming traits, I figured I may as well try it as well, though I'd never successfully maintained any sort of diary/journal for any real length of time. I hit LJ and popslash early in 2001 and had a blast for the next few years.

LJ led to many many other fandoms - I have a bad habit of seeing something interesting and checking it out, then somehow ending up invested. once I admit to an interest, I tend not to abandon it - I may wander away for a while, but find myself checking for new stuff periodically.

New Skool - post-'hiatus'

intense investment in SGA, NCIS and CSI (original), drifted into SPN and continued the love for the Fast & Furious franchise, and gained a shiny new love for ST:Reboot and Primeval. most recently I've been sampling AI RPS, even though I have no interest in the the show (again because I cannot ignore posts by friends), and much of the stuff I've seen is both pretty and fun.
