The 4400 - season (series?) closer.

I'm a couple of weeks late, but don't hold that against me. Cutting for those of you who may not have seen it yet...

They killed Isabelle! Those bastards! Isabelle had come a long way, bless her heart. Only one thing stops me from outright rage over this: I don't think she's dead. Whee! If the series is over, she's "dead" in canon, of course. But they left themselves some *fabulous* outs if the show is renewed, but there doesn't seem to be any news on that yet. Anyway.

Working from memory...Inside the compound. Tom leaned down over Isabelle, felt for her pulse. He looked up at Jordan, all sad, and shook his head. Cut to Jordan and Tom standing outside the compound, talking about whatever it is that they had to do next. That's the last we hear about it until the funeral for Shawn's loved ones. Tom tells Kyle, "She's gone." And that's it. That's it! No funeral, no one reflecting on poor Isabelle's demise. NOTHING. For a character who played such a large part in the series, that's a really cheap exit.

EXCEPT!

No one stated clearly that she's dead. No funeral. No sad viewings of her body all lifeless and...dead.

Tom and Jordan went their separate ways after they left the compound. What if Tom *had* felt a pulse? What if he lied to Jordan because Jordan was still Marked when Izzy died? Knowing the Marked would be after Izzy because she betrayed them, Tom played it safe and told Jordan she was dead, just in case. He could have gone back inside after Jordan left, to whisk Izzy away for safe-keeping. He wouldn't tell Kyle, in case Kyle told Jordan. Once Jordan is un-Marked and all of the known Marked are taken care of, Tom can bring Izzy out of hiding.

Yay! Isabelle isn't dead!

Other stuff not related to Isabelle dying happened, and a lot of it was interesting ;-)

I continue to not like the new boss lady - Meghan, and I roll my eyes every time she has a scene with her new loverboy, Tom. HONESTLY. There's something creepy about her, but I can't put my finger on it. I have renewed love for Diana.

Joel Gretsch acted his ASS off when he became evil Marked!Tom. He's usually such a steady, upright guy (he and Elliot Stabler would be buds, big time) that it was nice to see the actor step outside that framework, and to do it *so* well. I wanted to see more of evil!Tom; I bet the actor loved it too!

I'm tired of Jordan. Tess and Kevin, while sweet, are kind of creepifying. I have a feeling that Maia's going to bring teenage angst to a whooooole new level.

I hope the show's renewed, and I hope they bring Isabelle back. Kyle and Izzy 4eva!
